In June 2018, BSTLC was accepted by GlobalGiving on to their Accelerator Hub crowdfunding platform. As we met certain targets during this initial campaign, we now have a permanent place on the main Global Giving crowdfunding platform.

We would like to thank everyone who supported us with donations and/or sharing our campaign on their own social media platforms.

In particular, we would like to thank the following companies for their very generous support:

CHC Construction

CHC Construction is a Southend based company which provides a full range of design and build services and property management.

MD Trevor Williams is passionate about providing a service that focuses upon ‘value, collaboration and integrity, with a commitment to high standards of health, safety and environmental protection.’

CHC has been a member of the Organisation for Responsible Businesses since it launched in 2010.

Trevor is also committed to supporting the local community and is a Trustee of Age Concern Southend.

Ticket Tailor

We use Ticket Tailor for our Double Whammy events and find it every bit as efficient, but far more cost effective than using other well-known ticketing options. Rather than adding a booking fee to each transaction, which we would either have to pass on to delegates or cover the cost ourselves, we pay a small fixed fee while the booking is active. We also receive a charity discount.

As MD Jonny White explains on the website:

‘We do not add booking fees to your tickets, which can save up to 95% in costs. We think this is a much fairer approach to ticketing.’

Very importantly, Ticket Tailor is UK based so perhaps a better option to consider from a GDPR/data security perspective?

Grant Maton – Essex Wildlife Trust

Grant made a generous personal donation, but as the Corporate Communication Officer for the Essex Wildlife Trust, an organisation we have close associations with, we would like to thank Grant by acknowledging the great work carried out by this conservation charity.

Jennings Of Garsington

Jennings of Garsington operate business parks, business units, workshops, retail units and warehouses in Oxford.

Jennings have been members of the Organisation for Responsible Businesses since 2012.

Chairman Mike Jennings is passionate about operating ethically and responsibly and ‘strong values and principles are the heartbeat of Jennings.’

As landlords, they ‘do things differently.’ Unusually, they don’t tie tenants in to long, complicated leases but operate from a position of trust.

Mike has his own blog about ethical business and has recently published Valuable, a superb book about his personal journey in creating a business run with integrity and respect for others.

Home Instead Southend

Home Instead is a franchise and the franchisee for Southend is Niven Ramalingum. Home Instead offers a much-needed home care service to older people in their own homes. The care is person centred – tailored to meet the needs of the client – and supports people to stay in their own homes for longer whilst maintaining independence and dignity.

Niven is passionate about changing the way home care is delivered to senior people. He works closely with other agencies in the area and frequently delivers seminars and workshops to help people understand the needs of the elderly, especially those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
